I was writing regularly and then Russia invaded the Ukraine. That was deeply shocking. I still remember the Russian tanks rolling into Prague. I was a school pupil in London so I wasn't directly affected since I lived here, grew up here but we had relatives over there so my mother was deeply worried about the situation. The difference, however, is that Czechoslovakia was part of the Soviet bloc which included Eastern European countries whereas the Ukraine was a sovereign country upon Russia's invasion. That doesn't mean it was OK to roll tanks into Czechoslovakia, it certainly wasn't, but invading a sovereign country is of a different order. So, I felt that blogging was somehow insignificant compared with such a devastating war situation. I couldn't help but be distracted by it. It meant I didn't put my art out onto my Pinterest either because I again felt that it was rather trivial to do so. The situation is still dire but I thought maybe I should start up again. So much has been going on in the world.
However, I did write a post on one of my daughter's blogs (May) by invitation from her:

It was more nerve wracking than chatting on here. I didn't want to make a mess of it. Here I don't think very hard, I just write what comes into my head.
I'm watching Wimbledon, of course! My daughter and I love to sit and watch the matches together and discuss them. We still enjoy learning and discovering something new we can try. The Pandemic rather stopped us from practising but now things are freer we are bound to dust off our racquets. I haven't thought about who is going to win the tournament. As far as I'm concerned congratulations to whoever raises the Venus Rosewater Dish. As for the men, who knows? π€ Their trophy π(Challenge Cup) has a pineapple πon top of it because pineapples were only eaten by the wealthy so were a sign of prestige. In the 19th century, that is. I certainly intend to watch the semi-finals and finals for both. Apart from the singles, I can't wait to watch the doubles matches both main draw and legends!πΎ
